History
North Country Community Theatre Inc. began in the summer of 1973,
organized by Founding Director Eric Alan Jones. Our purpose then as
it is now: to strive to produce quality community theatre and to
provide people with the opportunity to take part in all aspects of a
theatrical production. Since our very first production, The Music
Man, 30 years ago, we have presented not only summer musicals, but
also teen theatre, one acts, touring shows, dinner theatre,
melodramas, comedies, mysteries and original reviews.
Over the last ten years, we have continued to expand our activities
with annual musical production for teenagers and an occasional
combined show for all ages. In recognition of the tremendous energy,
commitment and talent of Upper Valley youth, NCCT awards an annual
scholarship to a graduating high school senior pursuing his or her
studies in theatrical arts. The scholarship is named in honor of
Hetty Thomae whose vision, energy, patience and perseverance have
insured the success of NCCT Youth Productions.
NCCT is continually grateful to the hundreds of people who have
contributed their time, enthusiasm, energies, talents and financial
support - without these people, we would not exist. To the casts,
crews, productions staff, orchestra and audiences - we are indebted
to you and proud that we are all united by our shared love of the
stage.
