The Hetty Thomae Youth Scholarship

This scholarship was established 10 years ago to recognize the tremendous energy, commitment and talent of Upper Valley youth. It is awarded to a graduating high school senior pursuing his or her studies in theatrical arts and or music. The scholarship is named in honor of Hetty Thomae whose vision, energy, patience and perseverance have insured the success of NCCT Youth Productions.

The purpose of the scholarship is to recognize the talent and potential of Upper Valley youth, specifically in the area of theatrical arts. The $500 scholarship will be awarded to a 2008 graduating senior to help the student financially with continuing education. The award is not based on need, but rather the following criteria

Criteria and instructions:

Applications must be received by May 1, 2008 for award in June 2008.

1. Must be a graduating high school senior.

2. Must be a current member of NCCT.

3. Must have been involved in at least one NCCT production (youth or adult).

4. Willingness to write an article for the NCCT Newsletter on how the award was used.

5. Two (2) recommendations, one (1) minimum from a teacher. NCCT board members can not be asked for recommendations.

6. On a separate typed sheet, list all the shows you've been involved with and in what capacity from 6th grade to the present.

7. Please respond to questions A through D below in a typed essay not exceeding one page.

8. Send a letter of application, along with #6 & #7 to NCCT/Hetty Thomae Scholarship, PO Box 462, Lebanon NH 03766 or email to ncct @valley.net (with Hetty Thomae Scholarship as the subject).
