2007 Hetty Thomae Youth Scholarship Recipients

For the first time since the inception of the Hetty Thomae Youth Scholarship the NCCT board was faced with a very difficult decision. What to do about two very deserving applicants for the scholarship. The solution: give out two scholarships

The NCCT Board of Directors is pleased to announce that the 2007 Hetty Thomae Youth Scholarship recipients are Grace Chris and Elizabeth Montmagny.

The scholarship was established 10 years ago to recognize the tremendous energy, commitment and talent of Upper Valley youth. It is awarded to a graduating high school senior pursuing his or her studies in theatrical arts and or music. The scholarship is named in honor of Hetty Thomae whose vision, energy, patience and perseverance have insured the success of NCCT Youth Productions.

Both of this year's recipients have extraordinary credentials and been involved in theater from an early age.

Grace Chris, a Hartford High School graduate, has been in three NCCT teen productions, most recently as Ms. Darbus in High School Musical. She has also performed with the Chandler Theatre in Woodstock and in the Hartford High School musicals, most recently as Winifred in Once Upon a Mattress. Grace's vivacious and warm personality and her intense desire to perform will drive her where she wants to go ¨on Broadway!". Grace is a freshman at the University of Vermont where she is pursuing a degree in Theater.

Elizabeth Montmagny, a Lebanon High School graduate, has been involved in theater since before she could walk, as her mother carted her from production to production in her role as costumer for various theatrical groups. She was first seen on stage with NCCT as a member of the children's chorus in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. She has appeared in 13 NCCT productions. Elizabeth has also appeared in two Opera North productions and all of the drama productions at Lebanon High School. Her most recent role was as the Witch in Into the Woods. Elizabeth's desire to share her love for music and theater has lead her to pursue a Music Education degree at Plymouth State University, where she is currently a freshman.

NCCT is very proud of these young ladies and we look forward to following their bright futures.
