Audition Information:

Please read all the information below to determine if you’ll be able to participate in NCCT’s 53rd summer production, The Addams Family.

Registration will remain open until the night of Friday, April 10.

Performers must be 12 years or older.

Being part of a show is exciting but is also a very large commitment! When registering, select ALL rehearsal dates where you have a scheduling conflict. Your availability to attend rehearsals affects what scenes and numbers we schedule each week and any unexpected conflicts affect not just you but the entire cast. Once we move into Lebanon Opera House (6/27), all rehearsals are mandatory for everyone.

There will be NO on-site registration.

All auditions, callbacks and rehearsals will be held at NCCT’s new space:

Auditions

When registering, choose one of the four sessions below.

Tuesday April 14

Session 1: 5:00pm - 7:00pm*
Session 2: 7:00pm - 9:00pm

Thursday April 16

Session 1: 5:00pm - 7:00pm*
Session 2: 7:00pm - 9:00pm

*Note: If you are under 18, please register for the earlier sessions (5pm - 7pm). Adults may sign up for any session.

Audition Requirements:

Vocal Auditions: Plan to sing 16-32 measures of a song from a musical that best showcases your range and personality. Please bring your sheet music for our accompanist.

Dance Auditions: Bring clothes you feel comfortable to move in. Bring character, jazz or comfortable (clean) shoes for dancing. Everyone will be asked to dance so the choreographer has an idea of your skill level. A video of the dance will be sent to everyone beforehand so you can prepare and practice.

Callbacks

Saturday April 18

12:00pm - 4:00pm

Callback Details:

For those who are asked to attend, sides and music will be shared prior to callbacks so you can prepare ahead of time.

Rehearsal Details:

The first rehearsal will be Saturday, April 25 from 12 - 6:00pm for the entire cast. There will be some initial housekeeping, followed by a full read through and then singing through the music.

Rehearsals will be Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6:00pm - 9:00pm and Saturdays from 12:00pm - 6:00pm. The weekly rehearsal schedule will be sent prior to Tuesday with the details of who needs to attend and what we will be working on.

We load into the Lebanon Opera House (LOH) on Saturday, June 27. All adult cast and crew members and the parents/guardians of the young cast members are required to participate.

Once we are at LOH, all scheduled rehearsals are mandatory for everyone.

Other Information

Although we would love to be able to cast everyone who comes out to audition we are not always able to do so.
After casting, all cast members will be asked to pay a $25 materials fee to cover the cost of librettos and scripts. This fee is able to be waived if it represents a hardship.
In addition to rehearsals, NCCT will be holding several fundraising events throughout the process. We strongly encourage everyone to participate in at least one of these events. As a non-profit, NCCT relies heavily on the support of our community, and it takes all of us to continue keeping community theatre alive and accessible to everyone for decades to come. Details about these events will be shared in the near future.

Sheet Music: A good place to find audition music is MusicNotes.com. You can choose your song, choose a key that works for your voice, download the sheet music for the pianist, and even listen to your song to get comfortable with the arrangement. This last part is important as sheet music does not necessarily match the cast recording you’ve been singing along to.
